How are climbing holds finished and painted?

We finish our holds using a durable surface paint system combined with a proprietary texture blend designed specifically for fibreglass macros.

After the structural shell is cured, we apply texture using our in-house blend, followed by a paint system developed to withstand wear from repeated use. This ensures the hold maintains both performance and visual consistency over time.

We apply colour at the surface. This allows for greater flexibility in colour matching and a cleaner, sturdier underlying material structure.

Each hold goes through a quality check after painting and texturing to ensure consistency before it leaves the factory.

The finishing stage is where a lot of quality differences show up between manufacturers. Poor finishes wear quickly or feel inconsistent, while a properly applied system maintains grip and durability.
